Ear piercing in a Medical Office by Medical Professionals

If you're looking for a safe place to get your child's ears pierced, we are here for you!

Unlike the mall, our office uses 24K gold-plated, surgical-grade steel earrings to avoid allergic reactions and risk of infection.

Ear piercing takes about 5 minutes to complete.

For most children, we can pierce both ears at the same time!

$150

Ear Piercing Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you pierce? Does it matter?

Some parents want their babies to get their ears pierced. I ask patients to wait until after the 2-month checkup. This gives the earlobe time to grow and develop. For toddlers, school-aged children, and preteens, we usually decide to pierce both ears at the same time so there’s no anticipation anxiety. Some parents bring in kiddos who want their ears pierced on their birthdays, which we are happy to accommodate. Makes for a special day!

We use medical grade surgical steel studs with yellow gold plating (see the picture above). You can read more about the Hastings CorenPS piercing kits at Hastings Product Website.

Our earring should stay in for 6 weeks before replacing them with your own earrings. The posts are extra wide to form a good hole, and they are hypoallergenic.

We mark the spots and review them with parents to make sure that we have the best locations. Sometimes we miss the marks and have to remove the earrings and replace them – thankfully this is a rare occurence.

Yes! We will give you a routine which consists of daily saline rinses. It is no longer recommended to rotate the posts.

If you start to notice redness or irritation around the new earring, you can text us a picture. If the skin needs medical attention, the child will need to see his or her primary care provider.
